I just had a friend over who is now working from home trying to start up his business after working at a desk job for more than 15 years. There were a few reasons he had to quit, but the primarily reason was because of the economic uncertainties affecting his place of work.
But i recommended a good way for his to multiply his investment in a safe and assured way - investing in gold. Why gold? Because its a rock solid investment, and has been since the time of the ancients. But these days, its easier to buy gold in coin form or ingot. Or if you have the interest, you can even go for some rare coins that have special value, with the help of Monaco Rare Coin’s expert staff.
With it being the most precious of all metals, the demand for gold especially its beauty and lustre will definitely increase as the years go by.

I just went to watch the new movie ‘Monsters vs. Aliens’ at the cinema yesterday. I didn’t opt for the 3-D version, since the cinema charge a buck more for it and an additional 5 bucks rental for the 3-D glasses (there were 6 of us in the party, go figure).
It was an enjoyable film, although a bit weak in the storyline. The effects though, and the laughs carried the film all the way. I thought the animation, while good, didn’t really blow me away. But that’s basically because these days, we’re so used to top drawer animation at every new cartoon flick, we’ve really become indifferent to the amount of effort and detail the animators put into it, not to mention the technology involved.
But Bob the blue blob was a joy to watch.

Do you even have time to play sports these days? Watching Monday Night Football or playing March Madness on your PS3 does not count.
I’ve not done any other sports for the longest time - except hitting the gym. Well, i’m actually a beginner, started over a year ago, with not much experience before that. But with a lot of help from online resources and forums, and some tips from watching more experience guys do it, i’ve kind of learnt my way around.
These days i gym 4 times a week on weekdays, Wednesday is my rest day.

Everyone who works in the service industry deal with clients, some of them more difficult than others. Difficult clients are part and parcel of working life, anyone will tell you that. But when they are purchasing products with millions of dollars from you, it makes it much more difficult.
I have come to realize that the best way to deal with them is to keep quiet and let them vent however they wish. It doesn’t always work, but most of the time it gets me through. The most important thing is to get your stuff right, or make you can rectify whatever the problem is, then you can be sure it won’t happen so often again.

Yep, i finally upgraded to a HP L1908w 19″ monitor. My old 17″ monitor was fine but it was a CRT and i find my eyes feeling the stress after a few hours of use.
Actually its not a new, this monitor has been sitting around unused for a few months since my colleague resigned, so my boss finally told me to grab it before another departments takes it away. i like the LCD - its easier on the eyes, and being flat, i can move it further back away from me, naturally making better for my eyes.
And then there is also the widescreen thing. I just love it. No more sidescrolling when reading wide documents, and with better resolution its better graphics!

We’ve been going on overseas holidays for a few years now, and we’ve always relied on the Net to do research on our destinations and also to book hotels and flights. I think the ease online booking has improved tremendously compared to the late 90’s, when thing were pretty unreliable. Airlines are even strongly encouraging their customers to go the online route, in a bid to cut down cost of manpower and paperwork.
But too many websites for hotels and ratings can be a bad thing. Most of the websites are not helpful, there are a couple of trusted ones that we come back to time and time again. The key to a good website is not just in the info presented, its the ease of use and user feedback. Users are the best judge of the hotels and services, so presenting all the views both good and bad is invaluable.

Just got news that my pal Pete has become a father. Congrats, Pete! I didn’t even know his wife had gone into labour in the morning, so it was kinda a surprise when i got a text message from him spreading the good news.
Mother and baby are fine, thanks to the staff of the great hospital. We’ll be visiting them later tonight, I’m really excited to see them after a long while.
It seems like lots of couples are having babies this year, coincidence? To me any time is a good time to have a baby, so there.

The problem with having kids is that all your holidays tend to be oriented to be centered around them. Don’t get me wrong, I love my kids and really look forward to holidays with them, but sometimes there are some activities and destinations that are off our lists due to unsuitability for kids. Like long hikes and mountain climbing.
And fine dining in exotic Mexican Riverian Maya.
Now that’s something i really want to try. Karisma Hotels are offering Adults Only All Inclusive Hotel packages that include excellent fine dining set in any of their many exotic riveria hotels and resorts. Imagine dining in fine cuisine while watching the beautiful sunset… now that’s lovely. They have resorts in such popular destinations like Azul, El Dorado and even a Hidden Beach if you are into nudist beaches.
