iPad Craaaaaazy…

I’m iPad Craaazy! Last month i plonked down USD499 for the new iPad. Best money i ever spent in a long while.

Its cool and fun! Just love the apps and games! After 2 years of Android this seems like a breath of fresh air. No more dodgy games with almost 8-bit graphics, no apps that take 5 mins to download but hang immediately after you run it.

I gotta hand it to Apple, they know how to make a good product. I’m very impressed. I can see what the hype is all about. But of course they have their limitations especially when comes to copying movies or songs onto it.

Facebook for Doctors

We all love medical dramas on TV. House, Grey’s Anatomy, Chicago Hope and ER, and stretching back to the days of Trapper John MD and Quincy ME.

What these shows often portray is that research in the diseases and illnesses is important. Also, feedback from fellow professionals in the form of sharing knowledge and experiences. Something in the vein of ‘Linking Medical Minds’. Because one small oversight or mistake can mean life or death for patients.

Doximity is a social networking for doctors and medical personnel using real-names. Not only do they help professionals reconnect with one another, they also assist in the sharing of info and knowledge.

Remembering LA Law

Does anyone remember that popular law TV series back in the 80′s called LA Law? I loved that show. The intriguing storylines, the beautiful actors, a glimpse of the rich and powerful lifestyle… One episode that i remember vividly was about Arnie Becker (played by the good looking Corbin Bernsen) representing this family who’s young child allegedly became autistic after taking some medication meant for something else.

While it was just a TV series, it drove home a point that side effects of medication exists and sometimes it can be life serious.

Recently there has been news that Topamax, a drug for epilepsy and migraine can cause birth defects such as cleft lip and cleft palate. If you have such a case, contact O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath, who are experts in dealing with Topamax lawsuits.

Side Effects

I take lots of over-the-counter drugs. Like aspirin. Without aspirin i will most likely not make it past some work days.

But I due know that taking too much aspirin is not good for me. Sometimes it gives me gas, although I’ve not gotten any professional advice to confirm this. But its a fact that most drugs come with side effects warnings on their labels.

There’s a drug to treat Type 2 diabetes called Actos. The known side effects are edema, fluid retention, weight gain, and dyspnea. However some users have contracted bladder cancer. If you are one such user and do not smoke, you should seek advice from the best actos law firm out there, Watts Guerra Craft LLP today.

Zombie Lane

Guess what I’ve been up to these few days?

Back to Facebook games. Yep. I’m back. And now it’s Zombie Lane. Yes, I know its not as popular as Farmville or whatever -ville is available now, but I honestly think it’s on one of the best games out there now.

If you have watched any recent humor zombie apocalypse movies like Shaun of the Dead, then you will appreciate the humor of the game. And unlike many other games, Zombie Lane has great depth and an interesting storyline. The first few days of playing may not show this, but the later levels are really interesting and gets you involved in the unfolding storyline.

Passing of an iCon

Steve Jobs may be overrated in most people’s eyes, but i think he is worth every accolade he has received.

I don’t own any Apple products (or should I say I can’t afford any) but for one person to dominate the world of tech and world in general is just astounding. The look and feel of the Apple products are sleek and classy, and have that inherent ease of design that so many other designers try to emulate but mostly fail. I hope that Apple can still strive to be as creative and innovative now without Jobs, as an honour to his legacy.

Beauty School Explosion

Long time readers of this blog would remember me talking about how Cosmetology schools are really going big in these past few years. Up there at the top is of course, Regency Beauty Institute, the leading beauty school based out of Minneapolis. Back then in 2002, they had about 50 schools nationwide, now they’ve really expanded to more than 80 schools in time small amount of time.

Why are they ao popular? Besides providing the latest and best teaching methods in beauty and cosmetology, students are sent out to the working field to provide on job training in the public eye. once you complete your course, you are well placed to get a good job with their network of salons across the country.

Its My Birthday!

Yes, I’m 38 today. You know people always say that age is just a number? And that you are as old as you feel, despite what the mirror and calendar tell you? Yes, I know its cliche but its true nonetheless.

I feel great, life is indeed blessed. There are lots to complain about but sometimes its good to look at the bright stuff in life, rather than be negative. Life is too short to spend your time on things that do not matter in the long run. So with that life view in mind, i spend a lot of time with my family, reading the books i like, and traveling. Well, granted, I don’t get to travel as much as i would like, but i still do.

Look Both Ways Before Crossing the Street

I once heard a joke on a late night talk show.

Look Both Ways Before Crossing the Street – even on a one way street. It’s funnier if you come to my city. The drivers can be maniacal, trust me. They have little regard for traffic law or human safety. Everyday i see accidents and near accidents that can easily be avoided.

Getting knocked down by a moving vehicle is dangerous, you can get severely injured or worse still, killed. Always know a good accident lawyer, like this Austin truck accident lawyer who’s the best in the business.
