The US dollar has been losing strength in the past few weeks. There have been a few factors cited regarding this, the strong winter crippling the US this past few months, jobs in trouble, etc. Whatever the reasons are, the US dollar is still continuing to be weakening and most experts can’t agree on when it will turn around. Across the atlantic in Europe, the European debt emergency is continuing to concern analysts.
All these factors is affecting the price of gold in the interim. In a good way, that is. Gold price has been on the climb in the past 2 weeks, and China, being a world financial player, has quietly increased their reserve requirements, while US retail sales rose by 0.5%. In that same time, US crude oil inventories surged.
What does all this mean to you and me? Gold price increase means its a good time to invest our money. Invest and buy gold bullion and watch your profits come.

A friend of mine was ranting on facebook that while he was happily playing Heavy Rain on his beloved PS3, sometime went awfully wrong, his system shut down and he couldn’t play. He was thus venting his frustration online for awhile.
A little later he posted on FB regarding the issue. Apparently PSN website posted an updated on the error. It didn’t really say much, except that they were working hard on restoring the system and it only affecting the ‘fat’ PS3 models and not the newer, slim versions. A few days later I read on Digg that the reason for this error was a leap year programming error - the system wrongly assumed 2010 to be a leap year and added a 29 Feb instead of moving on to 1 Mar. Sort of a different Y2K problem, heheh.
You’d think a piece of equipment as sophisticated as the PS3 would not suffer this trivial problem, what more by a giant like Sony. But i guess that’s technology for you.

Most people, especially my friends, are so stressed out with work and commitments that they have little time for holidays and recreation. But at the rate they are going, it will be a matter of time before they burn out, or worse, suffer some damage like heart attack or something like that.
Take some time off to enjoy a family vacation, it will do wonders for your health and sanity. Try a holiday in the Riviera Maya in Mexico for a change. The Azul Blue prides itself by being the world’s first stress free holiday hotel. Come here if you want to be treated to a beautiful view with sun, sea and sand. Or you can enjoy a relaxing spa and take a meditation class. Or for the more adventurous, try deep sea fishing or snorkelling.
Azul Blue is part of the Karisma chain of hotels all along the secluded white-sand beaches on the Mexican Riviera Maya. Check out their range of boutique hotels to find one that meets your holiday needs.

Wow its been some time since I’ve updated here. A lots been happening on my life recently so I have been taking time off some online activities. And blogging’s one of them.
Those who know me will know that I have also officially ended another of my long-running blogs, one that is quite popular in niche circles. It was a huge decision for me to end it’s run after 4 and a half years, but my priorities have evolved a lot since i started that particular blog so long ago. Ironically the last 1 year when i was struggling to keep it afloat, the earnings from ads have improved markedly, not entirely sure why. It must be Google.
So with a lot of my online commitments gone now, it feels like a load off my shoulders. Yeah.

Didn’t watch the whole Grammy Awards earlier, only the last half hour or so. The one thing that I dislike most is how they try to fit in as many performances as possible. There’s only so much singing you can take in a 3 hour broadcast.
But the buzz is all about how Taylor Swift beat out the strong field to snag Album of the Year, one of her 4 awards that night. I HAVE her album, I got it for my preteen daughter. The thing is that I can’t believe it is better than Beyonce’s. BEYONCE! And what’s more, I can’t believe its better than Lady Gaga’s!!
I don’t know what the message they’re sending the music industry, but its a change from the tradition.

Well, a bit of an update on the website using Joomla! that I mention in an earlier post.
I gave up trying to install it myself (i think using Filezilla made the installation incomplete), i decided not to go through the hassle of it all again and got my hosting re-seller to do it for me. He had a faster and more secure connection, so he got it done in a zip.
After that it was all smooth sailing for me and the CMS. I downloaded a template from an open source site, configured most of the menu bar in half a day. After a few more days of tinkering with the small details, the website was pretty much up and running.
Now the only thing left to do is to fill in the content.

The school term has just started for kids all across the country, i haven’t really had much time to buy back to school items for my 2 school-going kids. The elder one is in 3rd grade so she can pretty much take care of herself. The younger one is now in kindy, so she’s bugging me to get new stuff for her.
Kid’s items for school can be pretty expensive when you add it all up together, so i usually only buy the basics and not splurge on everything she wants. But for a kindergartener, one basic necessity is the all important lunch box - i dunno, its like a fashion statement for pre-schoolers everywhere. I got her this awesome insulated lunch tote. Its like a thermos and keep hot food warm until snack time, so its very handy. Of course not forgetting the toddler backpack to put all the books in. Check out this website, and you can see their wide range of back to school items like nap mats.

Guess what, come next month, i would have been married for 10 years! 10 Years baby!
It was 10 years ago i took my vows with my lovely wife. Since then we’ve been through some ups and downs, but ive never regretted it for a moment. We have also had two lovely children since, and our household is never quite with them around. For our anniversary we’re going back to where we went for our honeymoon, the beautiful island of Langkawi.
Looking forward to a short holiday, and until then i have to buy her a fantastic anniversary present, and i already have a great one in mind. Just to find it at a right price.

school just started for the fall season, and my youngest kid is packed up to playschool for the day. She just loves school, so much that sometimes she doesn’t even take her nap there. And as most parents know, the less afternoon nap time a kid gets, the crankier the kid would be. It seems to be one of those indisputable laws of parenthood.
Its no fault of the kindy teachers. They try their best. But maybe its the excitement of the new school and friends, my kid finds it hard to sleep in the new surrounding. Until i bought her her very own favorite nap mat to be used there. Now she has no problems sleeping in the afternoons while she is there. Check out this website for more of the cool products for you little ones like their stephen joseph quilted backpack or their stephen joseph backpack.
Maybe its time to get some cool new gear for your kid’s back to school!
